Government spokesman Klaus Vater says Merkel will travel to the Black Sea resort of Sochi on Aug. 14 for the informal meeting.
The spokesman said Wednesday that the two leaders would discuss international and economic issues, but gave no further details.
Medvedev and Merkel last met in Germany in mid-July. LINK
