ISLAMABAD: A team of UN commission looking into the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto visited Liaquat Bagh, the place where the former premier was assassinated near one and half year back.

The seven-member team arrived in Islamabad is carrying out the probe in the country.

Strict security measures were taken at and around Liaquat Bagh at the occasion of the team's visit with deployment of heavy contingents of police and other law enforcement agencies.

Traffic was also suspended on the roads around Liaquat Bagh. During the coming weeks, the UN team members will be holding meetings and collecting documents in order to determine the facts and circumstances of Ms. Bhutto’s assassination.

The Commission, which began its work on 1 July, will submit a report to the secretary-general within six months. Ban will then share the report with the Government and submit it to the Security Council for information. LINK
