WASHINGTON: The Obama administration said on Friday it could not confirm that Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud, who has a $5 million U.S. bounty on his head, had been killed in a missile attack two days ago.
"We've seen reports that Baitullah Mehsud has been killed. We cannot confirm whether he is dead," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters.
"There seems to be a growing consensus among credibleobservers that he is indeed dead," he said. LINK
