SRINAGAR: Indian soldiers killed eight militants in gun battles along the Line of Control (LoC), the military said Wednesday.
"By killing the militants we have foiled their attempt to infiltrate into held Kashmir," army spokesman J.S. Brar told foreign news agency. He said seven of the heavily armed militants were killed in three separate encounters in northern Kupwara district Wednesday and overnight. The eighth militant was killed in southern Poonch district as he tried to cross the Line of Control (LOC) between the two countries. LINK
