GOJRA: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has announced Rs.100 million aid for the Gojra victims and directed Punjab government to form committee of elected representatives of Gojra for compensation of damages.

Earlier, PM Gilani arrived here on Thursday to express solidarity with the Christian community, following the tragic incident of rioting that left eight people dead and several properties destroyed. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Senior Provincial Minister Raja Riaz, Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and Senior Advisor of Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa.

A meeting presided by Premier Gilani was held in Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) office in which he was briefed about the investigations carried out so far.

Prime Minister while addressing the meeting said creating religious harmony is need of the hour. He has directed Punjab government to form a committee of elected representatives of Gojra to provide compensation and remove reservations of Gojra tragedy victims and announced aid of Rs.100 million for affectee.
