CJP for no compromise on standard of cases’ verdicts

ISLAMABAD: The full court meeting is in progress under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry here on Monday.

During meeting the CJP said no compromise will be made on the standard of verdicts on cases.

The meeting is reviewing the judicial policy for 2009 and formation of committee to monitor anti terrorism courts.

Fourteen judges are participating in the full court meeting. Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice Javed Buttar are not present in the meeting.

In the inaugural address of the meeting, the CJP said implementation of Judicial Policy-2009 will be made despite shortage of resources.

He said full attention will be paid to the disposal of cases so that people’s expectations could be met.

Justice Iftikahr Muhammad Chaudhry said a good number of cases have been disposed of since March 24, 2009. The number of pending cases has decreased, he noted.

He said it is the first full court meeting after the restoration of judiciary to the position of November 2, 2007. LINK
