Chief Justice Shairf for stern action those behind sugar crisis

LAHORE: Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif said government should take stern action against those responsible for the crisis of sugar and its seems that there is lack of coordination between Punjab and center on sugar issue.

Justice Khawaja gave these comments during suo moto notice case hearing. He said government should take measures in the interest of public so they will be remembered in positive manner.

Chief Justice LHC asked that whether sugar mills owners are above from the government’s writ. Attroney general informed the court that 50,000 people avail utility stores and Ramzan bazaars facilities. The hearing has been adjourned till August 26.

Justice Khawaja directed that rates of sugar for sugar mills and government should be presented in next hearing. Attorney general Sardar Latif Khosa informed the court that sugar is on sale at Rs.38/kg at utility store and ramzan bazaars.

The chairman of TCP will appear in the court during next hearing. LINK
