Balochistan courts proceedings suspended after judges’ resignation

QUETTA: The court proceedings in Balochistan courts remained suspended after resignation of chief justice and remaining four judges as new chief justice and other judges have not been appointed yet.

No judge is available for more than 5,000 cases and other legal matters hearing. There are 11 vacancies of judges in Balochistan High Court (BHC) but Chief Justice Amanullah Yaeenzai, Justice Ahmad Khan Lashari, Justice Akhter Zaman Malghani, Justice Muhammad Nadir Khan and Justice Mehta Kalash Nath were serving since last several years. All four judges of BHC took the oath on November 4.All judges resigned on Tuesday with mutual consultation after Supreme Court’s July 31 verdict.

Legal experts said that legal crisis has been created after the judges’ resignations, as there is no available to hear more than 5,000 cases and other legal issues. LINK
