WASHINGTON: Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) has strongly condemned murder of Dr. Sajjad Arain in Hyderabad who was killed while on his way to attained duty at Civil Hospital Hyderabad.
A similar incident had also occurred a couple of days earlier in Quetta when Dr. Iqbal Zaidi was killed by unidentified miscreants.
Syed Samad, president of APPNA said, in a statement issued here that it was unfortunate that the law enforcement agencies in Pakistan have constantly ignored the plight of doctors, resulting in unfortunate loss of physicians lives. By now this easy phenomena of killing the doctors has become a routine and a threat to the right to lives of those who are providing souls to humanity irrespective of sex, color, religion or beliefs, he added.
Dr. Samad said that APPNA joins PMA in demanding immediate arrest of culprits as the doctors appear to be victimized due to carelessness of the government. LINK
